Shark Hanlon is on target for his best ever season and sent out his 19th winner of the campaign when Teescomponentsyess recorded a shock success in the Garrarus Beach (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Tramore.
The gregarious Bagenalstown trainer has enjoyed big price wins this term with Skyace in a Grade 3 at Down Royal (66/1) and again on Sunday in a Listed race at Punchestown (28/1).
Teescomponentsyess proved friendless on his first start here for Hanlon drifting right out to also go off at 28/1 having shown little in two outings in England earlier this year.
Aine O’Connor elected to make all on the 4,000 pounds Doncaster purchase, and he kept on strongly in the closing stages to get the better of evens favourite Kings Keeper by three lengths.
Rocky’s Howya kept on one paced a further five and a half lengths back in third.
Hanlon's partner Rachel O'Neill said, "He was another cheap purchase and he had been doing everything right at home, we like him now. Aine said there mightn't be much pace so she said she'd keep it simple.
"He jumps well and will probably go hurdling now but he could go back for a winners bumper. We'll see how he comes out of the race and he is an exciting horse to have.
"We bought him out of Gillian Boanas in the north of England. We saw him and his half-sister in the sales and they were right near the end of the sales. The half-sister came out first and we didn't buy her but she came out and finished second in a bumper at Ayr a couple of weeks ago.
"Another half-brother, Teescomponents Lad, has won a good few races so it's working out well."
O'Neill also reports Skyace in good form saying, "She is on a break now and has come out of the race well. She'll go straight to Cheltenham for the mares' novice. She is after being on the go now for a while and she ran on one of the first days back after lockdown. She deserves a bit of a break and runs well fresh.
"She is improving with every run and I'd say she has improved again since Sunday. She has got stronger and has filled out into a mare. It's great for the boys involved in her too."
