Charlie Swan's first runner with a restricted licence proved a winner as Vinciaettis claimed the four-year-old bumper at Limerick this afternoon.
Swan retired as a full-time trainer in January but had stated then he might continue to have a few runners in bumpers.
The four participants in the two-mile contest were all newcomers and it was the Timmy Hyde-owned Enrique gelding that was sent off 4/5 favourite.
Nina Carberry made the running on Swan's charge and sat calmly as Crafty Power challenged turning for home.
She asked her mount to stretch inside the final furlong and he was always holding the late challenge of Tokenella scoring by three-parts-of-a-length at the line.
"It's always hard to make the running and it was a messy race but he's a good clear winded horse and will improve a lot for the run," said Swan.
"He'll probably be sold now but is also in the Landrover Bumper so that is also a possibility."
Regarding his new 'restricted' licence career, he added: "I have mostly point to pointers now and have a couple for bumpers for the moment.
"It's a lot easier now and at least I don't have to ring owners with bad news any more!"
