Robert Tyner has “a few horses left to run this summer” and today won Wexford's Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase with Nelly's Money which was Ambrose McCurtin's first ride for the retiring trainer.
Tyner announced his retirement plans on May 6, with his Direct Image completing a five-timer of wins on May 29, and today Nelly's Money scored a third career success.
McCurtin delivered the daughter of Beneficial with a perfectly judged ride, moving through on the inside entering the home straight, leading at the last and scoring by a length and three parts from Eagle Moon
Tyner's wife Mary Tyner later reported "we are not finished yet and have a few in for the summer so we will keep going.
“She (Nelly's Money) is consistent and seems to love that ground. We will either look for something similar or we might go back over hurdles. We wanted to get today over with first. She is tough and jumped very well,
“Ambrose gave her a great ride and her owner Anthony (McCarthy) is away on holidays.”
