Harvey Specter ran on strongly to land the concluding nine-furlong handicap for Dick Donohoe and Denis Linehan.

The 11/2 shot settled in behind the leaders before being asked to take closer order passing the two furlong pole.

He hit the front over a furlong from home and kept on gamely in the closing stages to record a two length success over 12/1 shot Bella Rua

The winner has finished fourth on his last outing at Gowran Park when sent off a well backed favourite.

"He had been running into a bit of form lately and toughed it out well there. Denis was very good on him as he is a fairly highly strung horse and got him settled and managed him well,” said Donohoe.

"It was Denis' first winner for me and he rides very well and is strong for an apprentice.

"Paul Sweeney, from Letterkenny, has a half-share in him with me and he is with me a good while and am delighted for him to get his winner."
