Soft to heavy at Thurles

Testing ground is the order of the day at present following the recent wet and windy spell, and Thurles remains soft to heavy ahead of this afternoon's fixture.
The reappearance of Sir Des Champs in the Listed Boomerang Animal Bedding And Boomerang Horse & Country Store Chase is obviously of great interest, while, on a significant afternoon for Willie Mullins, the champion trainer runs a number of potentially exciting types. Moyle Park very lightly-raced since winning the Goffs Land Rover Bumper in 2013, switches to fences in the 2m2f beginners chase, while easy Clonmel bumper winner Myska will be a strong fancy in the 2m6f mares maiden hurdle.
The forecast is for showers today, and the temperatures are due to drop over the following few days.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the going at Navan is currently heavy after over an inch of rain in recent days.
The flagship Ladbrokes Troytown Handicap Chase is the highlight on Sunday with €100,000 in prizemoney, and the card also includes the Grade 2 Monksfield Novice Hurdle.
