Smash Williams made a big impression on his debut in the six-furlong maiden at the Curragh when sprinting away from his rivals in blistering style.
The Jim Bolger-trained debutant was produced to lead a furlong-and-a-half out by Kevin Manning.
The son of Fracas powered clear inside the final furlong to post a six-and-a-half length victory at odds of 7/1. Indrahar edged the runner-up spot from well backed debutant Moral High Ground who was sent off 4/1 favourite having been 20/1 in the morning.
"I was surprised he won so easily but knew we were coming with a good horse," said Bolger.
"We thought if there wasn't a real smart one there we expected to win. Kevin was very impressed.
"He was kind of a late developer and had a bit of a hold up with a nasal discharge a month ago.
"I didn't think he'd be back so soon but when it cleared up he indicated he was ready to go.
"He could go up to a mile and he has a great temperament."
