Sil Ver Klass was always handy in the Grade B EasyFix Equine Handicap Steeplechase and made the best way home from the last to win a good pot.
Peterjon Carberry 's mount tracked Magic Daze who took the field along at a good clip over this extended two miles.
The leader had Sil Ver Klass and a closing Mt Leinster for company straightening for home, but kept finding for Rachael Blackmore.
She was collared before the last by Sil Ver Klass who still had work to do to repel her on the run-in.
Magic Daze (5/1) was game but went down by three parts of a length to the 14/1 winner who picked up €27,000. Mt Leinster (17/2) was another half a length back in third.
Trainer Tony Martin said: “He’s owned by local boys and it couldn’t have worked out better.
“He’s won here before and jumps well around these fences. His strong point is his jumping and it’s a nice prize to win.”
Carberry added: “He’s run well around here before and that’s probably his best performance today. He stuck to it well.
“He seems to be a better chaser and proved it today. I hit the front soon enough but had to go for it at the time. He got a good jump at the last and stayed all the way to the line.”
Sil Ver Klass has now won three over fences in addition to one over hurdles and one on the Flat.
The winner is owned by the Mulvany's Bar Syndicate. Mulvany's Bar is in the nearby town of Dunboyne.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed P.J. Carberry, rider of Sil Ver Klass (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found Mr. Carberry in breach of both Regulation 10.3(g) frequency and Regulation 10.3(i) time to respond and having considered his record, they Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
