Grey Mountain Mist stayed on strongest to give trainer Dusty Sheehy a welcome winner.

The first reserve made the most of his opportunity in the extended two mile three handicap chase at Limerick.

The 11-year-old gelding took closer order on the heels of the leaders after jumping three out.

Ryan Treacy kept him to the inside and the pair moved into contention in third at the penultimate fence.

There were still plenty in with chances, though, as six horses charged towards the last.

A good leap from Grey Mountain Mist saw him land in the lead and full of running.

The 14/1 (from 20/1) shot was then driven out to score by two and a half lengths. Hand Of The King chased him home at 9/1 a couple of lengths ahead of third-placed Mindsmadeup (11/2).

Dusty Sheehy said: "Danny (Mullins) said the last day he didn't like going left-handed and he is what he is as a handicap chaser.

"Good ground is the key to him and he might get another win hopefully, as he is also well handicapped over hurdles."
