The Philip Fenton trained Shaniv with James 'Corky' Carroll up, justified support from 10/1 into 7/1 in the www.countysligoraces.com (Pro/Am) Flat Race.

Shaniv, a son of Definite Article, stayed on best up the straight to see off a host of challengers, at the line he was three parts of a length superior to Taken Twice

Fenton explained: "We thought he'd improve plenty for the run at Limerick and we were hopeful that he'd turn the tables on Christy's horse (Christy Roche's Silver Canyon fourth whilst Shaniv was 6th in the same race at Limerick). He'll go out to grass now and he should make a nice jumper and he should handle slower ground."
