Well-backed 5/4 favourite Sevenleft was soon in the pace-setting role in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden, and that approach from rider Pat Smullen took his mount all the way to a comfortable three length success in the opener at Limerick.
The Manduro colt showed the benefit of the experience gained in five previous runs and he was plainly still going best with a couple of furlongs left to run.
Sheila Lavery 's charge put three lengths between himself and Hasselnott as soon as he was asked to go and put a seal on proceedings.
"He deserved that. One day at Fairyhouse I beat him a nose and his form was good and he settled well in front today," reported Smullen.
"He ran in a good nursery at Naas the last day but was too keen. A different bit helped today.
"It's quite soft out there but he handled it well."
The Stewards interviewed C. O'Donoghue, declared rider of Paytheprice (GB), in relation to his late arrival to weigh out which necessitated his substitution.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who explained the circumstances surrounding his delay and apologised for it.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 196(v) and having considered his record, fined him €200.
