Gordon Elliott sent out his fifth winner of the two-day Punchestown fixture when British point-to-point winner Kalypso'chance easily justified 9/4 favouritism in the concluding bumper.
Bought for £85,000 shortly after winning over 2m4f at Corbridge in Northumberland in April, the son of Masked Marvel tracked the leaders under Harry Swan before heading State Man's half-brother Soir De Garde early in the home straight and went right away to slam that rival by 15 lengths.
Elliott, whose earlier Grade 2 novice chase winner Touch Me Not was also acquired from the British point-to-point scene, said: “He looks a nice horse and is a big stayer for next year.
“He has a good attitude, and you’d like the way he dropped his head and galloped to the line.
“He looked flat out halfway down the back.
“He’ll stay in bumpers this season and he’s a next year horse really.”
The four-year-old has been installed as the early 6-1 favourite for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham by Paddy Power.
