The Denis Hogan trained and ridden Moyhenna gained a second Punchestown win in as many months today and could be Sales-bound following her win in the Toals.com Bookmakers (Mares) Maiden Hurdle.
The daughter of Westerner won a bumper at the Co Kiladre venue on New Year's Eve and followed up that success today when beating Moonlight Escape by a length.
Hogan later revealed ““she's in the Sales in two weeks time at Cheltenham but I'll be gutted if she goes and we lose her.”
He added “running over two miles, that was always going to be hard going because she's a three-mile mare and we'll be looking at fences next year. We might find a mares' novice and give her one more run this season.
“She mightn't be quick but she's a proper national hunt mares and stays very well.”
“Her sister, by Flemensfirth, Moskovite is very good at home and won a point-to-point two weeks ago. She definitely goes to Cheltenham (Sales) in two weeks and could be very good - she could be as good as we have had.
“We have another sister by Flemensfirth who is showing good things so it's a great family.
“It's good for the lads, the Hennellys, who have been good national hunt supporters for a long time. They sell Solita tonight in Fairyhouse and are expecting her to make a few quid.”
