Robbie Power makes a welcome return from injury to ride the exciting Saint Felicien in the BetVictor Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas this afternoon.
Power has been in the wars over the past year missing over four months last summer due to back surgery and his previous return to race riding lasted less than a fortnight following a nasty fall at Tramore on October 14.
“I’m delighted to be back in action and have been waiting on this day for some time. Hopefully we can get a clean run at the rest of the season,” he said.
Speaking on the BoyleSports website he added, “There is plenty to look forward to and Saint Felicien is a nice one to start back on. He made a very good impression on his Irish debut when he won at Gowran Park before Christmas and before that he was an impressive winner in Auteuil.
“He only has the two runs and this is his first time to step into open company. He has to take on the likes of Petit Mouchoir and Darasso who have plenty of experience so it’s going to be a good test for him.
“He’s a horse we like a lot and is open to plenty of improvement from that first run in Gowran.”
The six-runner field for the two miles Grade 3 event is completed by Felix Desjy Whiskey Sour and Wolf Prince
