Across The Rhine gained reward for his consistency when landing the Ashbourne Handicap at Fairyhouse.

Placed on his last two starts he made no mistake this time. Pat Shanahan always had his mount to the fore and he stayed on well in the final furlong to score by a length-and-a-quarter from Sassy Gal

"It's well deserved as he's been knocking on the door," said trainer Tracey Collins.

"He's just got caught on his last two starts over further and we'll campaign him between seven and a mile. Hopefully the handicap is not too hard on him."
