Raise You held on despite running around in the Tesoro Vita Handicap at the Curragh.
The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding was making his first outing in handicap company having been placed twice in stakes race for the yard last season.
Dylan Browne McMonagle was soon in front on the 9/2 shot as he led on the far rail in the mile contest.
The Lope De Vega gelding was asked for an effort two furlongs out and soon drifted badly left across the track, hampering 4/1 favourite Tauran Shaman who in turn impeded Fil The Power
Raise You was straightened up again in the closing stages and found plenty to hold the challenge of stablemate Fame And Acclaim by a neck.
There was the same margin back to 50/1 shot Sirjack Thomas in third. The stewards had a look after the race and the result was unchanged.
Assistant Brendan Powell said:- “Last year he was always a bit keen and Joseph just thought he’d try and change tactics a bit this year.
“He’d always travel well, hit a flat spot and then stay on. Joseph decided to try him at a mile and make use of him.
“He’s hung across the track but Dylan has pulled his stick through and given him a few cracks to try and straighten him out.
“Fame And Acclaim has run a cracker. They have all run well. Never Forgotten (last of 21) wants softer ground and Dance Jupiter (12th) will improve from that."
