The Willie Mullins trained Bang Bang Rosie (4/6f) gained an overdue second career success in the Jake Carter Plays June 22nd (Mares) Maiden Hurdle at Limerick today, winning under in-form jockey Rachael Blackmore.

The daughter of Stowaway was sent to the front entering the home straight and in the end held the challenge of Biddy The Boss by two and a half lengths.

Bang Bang Rosie had previously filled the runner-up spot in two point to points, a bumper and two maiden hurdles, and was adding today's success to a bumper win at Punchestown last November.

The Stewards interviewed D.P. Maxwell, rider of fourth-placed Just Klass concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(F), in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and Regulation 10.4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended him for one race day.
