Purple Mountain sealed Willie Mullins’ treble in Killarney with victory in the concluding bumper.

She was a beaten favourite in fifth at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve but made no mistake today.

Punters sent her off the 5/6 favourite for this two mile one assignment, and she was driven to the front by Patrick Mullins in the final quarter of a mile.

Newcomer Colonel Mustard who had attracted support throughout the day, was the only horse able to with her.

The front two pulled clear in the final furlong, and Purple Mountain was always holding sway as she came in by three lengths.

Colonel Mustard showed plenty on debut in second at 16/5. He was four and a half lengths in front of Fongs Way (18/1).

Mullins landed the first two races on the card through Jon Snow and Buildmeupbuttercup both ridden by Paul Townend.
