King Of Kingsfield completed a double on the day for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud, as he claimed the concluding Ladbrokes (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
When in the care of Patrick Turley, the son of Vadmos easily won a point-to-point on debut at Portrush in March and he was expected to follow-up this afternoon.
Sent off the 8/13 favourite under Jamie Codd, the four-year-old raced in third in the early stages, improving a place into second with seven furlongs left to go.
Ridden to challenge over a furlong out, he soon got to the front and stretched clear in the closing stages, going on to prevail by three-and-a-half lengths.
.Faulty (15/2), who led for much of the race, finished a gallant second under Pat Taaffe for Noel Meade, while Honky Tonk who was pushed along intermittently from early, was third.
"Jamie said he did plenty the whole way, but he said he is a proper horse," Elliott, who was earlier on the mark with Fury Road revealed.
"It was (penny dropping late), he's a good horse and will be a lovely horse with a summer's grass."
Reflecting on the two-days at Down Royal, he added: "Brilliant, we had six winners and heaps of seconds and thirds. It is a great place and we love coming here."
