Drombeg Dream recorded her fifth career success, as she stayed on best to land the Racing Again At Tipperary On May 9th Race.

Successful three times in 2018, the Austin Leahy trained four-year-old was last seen finishing down the field on her return to action in a Group 3 at Naas.

Sent off an 11/1 chance this evening, the daughter of Arcano was settled in mid-division by Shane Foley.

She took closer order and was pushed along from early in the straight, coming with her challenge between horses from the furlong pole.

The bay victor was ridden to tackle the 15/8 favourite Downforce inside the final 100 yards, and she soon got to the front, keeping on well from there to prevail by half a length.

The aforementioned market leader had to settle for second under Billy Lee, while Psychedelic Funk (2/1) was a further two and a half lengths back in third.

Leahy, who trains the winner for owner Cian McAuliffe, said afterwards: "Shane Foley liked her and said she'd definitely get black-type somewhere along the line, he didn't know when, it could be the end of the year. She has improved from last year.

"She was a little bit keen early on and two furlongs down you'd imagine she was only going to be third but she stuck at it. That is the first time ever she has had to battle a good bit as normally she is a few lengths clear with a furlong to go.

"We have the Athasi Stakes (Curragh, May 6th) mapped in for Monday week provided we get a downpour the night before."

The winner is out of Drombeg Dawn who won the Irish Lincolnshire for Andrew McNamara at the Curragh in 2011.
