There is a great afternoon of jumping action in prospect with the two-day weekend meeting at Fairyhouse getting underway and also plenty of Irish interest in high profile UK races.

An eight-race card at Fairyhouse gets underway early at 11.35am with Impaire Et Passe making his eagerly awaited debut over fences in the SIS Beginners Chase. A Dream To Share is another star name hoping to get his career back on track after a lengthy absence in the Kettles Country House Hotel Supporting Fingal Ravens GFC Raceday Maiden Hurdle at 1.20, while a competitive field of eight runners go to post for the Grade 3 WillowWarm Hurdle at 1.55.

The going at Fairyhouse remains yielding, good to yielding in places, following 1.5mm of rain and selective watering.

The forecast is mainly dry for today with showers overnight and occasional showers on Sunday for the ‘Hatton’s Grace’ card.

Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan said, “We have five to six yards of fresh ground on the chase course.

“On the hurdle course we have a completely fresh track on Saturday and again a fresh track for the hurdle races on Sunday.

“We are looking forward to a good weekend of racing.”

There are three Irish-trained runners in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury with Senior Chief, Horantzau D’airy and Grandero Bello all lining up in the £250,000 feature at 3pm.

The BetMGM Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle sees the Willie Mullins-trained Mystical Power in a mouth-watering clash with Sir Gino, while Lorna Fowler’s Colonel Mustard is also among the eight runners going to post at 2.10.
