Fine Rightly justified his short price in the feature at Down Royal this afternoon when running out an easy winner of the Daily Mirror Chase.
Stuart Crawford 's charge was sent off a 1/3 shot in the 3m2f contest and cut out the early running in the three-runner event.
He was headed at the eighth by Draycott Place having tended to jump left. It was then Yes Tom s turn to lead after the sixth last.
Fine Rightly loomed up to his stable-mate at the third from home and went on before the next. Andrew Lynch didn't need to engage top gear on the hotpot as he recorded a seven-and-a-half length success.
Draycott Place kept on to claim the runner-up spot ahead of Yes Tom.
The winner was taking a significant drop in grade having been third in the Irish Gold Cup on his last outing.
The winner trainer was in Cheltenham and his brother Steven said afterwards:-
"He's better left-handed. If he keeps getting this ground he won't run on it as he needs soft ground. He's a possible for Punchestown."
