Pink Symphony showed a likeness for her change in scenery when swooping past her rivals to take the Group 3 feature Give Thanks Stakes at Cork at 8/1.

The four-year-old Montjeu filly only moved to the David Wachman yard shortly after Royal Ascot when trained by Paul Cole in England.

She was brought up the centre of the track by Joseph O’Brien to relegate Haziyna (11/4) and Amazing Beauty (16/1) to second and third respectively.

O’Brien sealed a double on the day with this victory after winning the first race on the card with Among Equals He was a replacement for Jamie Spencer on Pink Symphony as Spencer was still feeling the effects of a fall at Goodwood yesterday.

Delighted trainer David Wachman said: “That’s Joseph’s first winner for me. He gave her a great ride.

“It’s a great way to start with her. I’ve only had her four to six weeks. She was quite smart for Paul Cole over in England.

“She has been Group and Listed race placed over there. She maintained her form and didn’t have to improve to win.

“She’s a grand straightforward filly and likes reasonable ground.

“I’ll step her up in grade and trip. She stays one mile four to one mile six very well.

“It’s the first horse I have for the Hay’s. They also own Fame And Glory and Cape Blanco.” Spin was the 5/2 favourite for Aidan O’Brien but the Galileo filly finished seventh after being badly hampered deep in the final furlong causing Seamie Heffernan to snatch her up.
