Peace In The West made an impressive winning debut in the concluding bumper at Down Royal.
There were plenty in with chances coming down the hill but it was Francis Flood's newcomer who hit the front two furlongs from home.
The Westerner gelding kept on well for Davy Roche to record a five-and-a-half length success over 7/4 favourite Mister Hotelier
The well-backed Six Stone Ned (6/1 in morning into 4/1) was back in third.
"He's a fine horse and we think a nice bit of him," said Francis Flood junior.
"He's from a good family and is pretty useful. He likes a cut in the ground and we'll look for a winners bumper at a good track."
Owner/breeder Leonard Kelly, from Warrenpoint in County Down, also owned the dam and grand-dam.
"I thought he would run well," added Kelly.
Robbie McNamara was fined €500 for failing to take up his mount on By The Banks
Valerie Keatley, representing trainer Denis Cullen, stated that they found out through a third party that he would not be present for the ride.
