Harry Kelly recorded his first track success since June of last year, as his Patricks Park sprang a 20/1 surprise in the last at Roscommon, the Boyle Beginners Chase.
Placed in a point-to-point and maiden hurdle, the son of Insatiable was fitted with blinkers and a tongue strap for the first time today.
Having his first start since last September, he made virtually all. He was pressed by Dawerann from the third last, but kept on best when ridden, going on to score by four and a half lengths.
The aforementioned Dawerann (5/2jfav) had to settle for second under Jack Kennedy for Gordon Elliott, while Tiliver (9's to 7's) was another length and three parts back in third under Denis O'Regan for Alan Fleming. At Rainbow's End was the other joint-favourite, and she finished fourth.
Harry Kelly said afterwards: "The better ground helped and the blinkers worked. Sean was brilliant on him, and he’ll keep going over fences for the summer."
