Burmese Waltz was in a different league to the opposition as she stormed home in the opening fillies' auction maiden at Dundalk.
She tanked along in the slipstream of front-running Ascot Dreamer before readily picking her off over a furlong out.
The 2/5 favourite was ridden well clear in the final furlong by Colin Keane and was eased down to score by six and a half lengths. Festina Plente got up for second close home on debut at 20/1. She pipped Ascot Dreamer (40/1) by a head.
Trainer Ger Lyons said: “She’s a sweetheart as Colin said and just turns up and does what it says on the tin. He said she floated there and the first thing he did was apologise as he couldn’t hear in the wind and didn’t realise he was that far clear.
“It was trainer error as I didn’t realise the conditions of this race had changed until entry day and if I’d have known that I would probably have left Inverleigh alone and not let them take each other on at Leopardstown.
“We hold an entry in the Dick Poole at Salisbury and if not it would be the Blenheim. We like her and I love the sire Showcasing. It’s black-type after this.”
Burmese Waltz now has form figures of 321.
