One Good Cookie
One Cool Cookie successfully conceded weight all-round in the Guinness Chase under Davy Russell, an event that saw 4/5 favourite, Arbor Supreme having to settle for third.
Ridden with more restraint than usual, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned chestnut came through to lead at the last and went on to account for Selection Box by a length and a half.
This three miles two furlongs is the furthest that One Cool Cookie has won over, though he had won a point-to-point. Of course he was bought after that for a large sum and he is a full-brother to 2006 John Durkan Chase winner, In Compliance.
One Cool Cookie is a winner in Grade One company too, successful in the 2007 Powers Gold Cup.
Successful handler, Charlie Swan said: "He is a 149-rated horse and it is grand to have won two races with him this year. He has that Grade 1 penalty that doesn't make life easy for him. He'll go now for the Irish Grand National. He is a grand horse and I wouldn't mind having a few more like him." (EM)
