Successful in the previous race on Everlasting Ryan Moore brought up a quick double on the afternoon when riding Old Faithful to win the TRI Equestrian Handicap at Navan.
A winner under Wayne Lordan on his previous start at Naas, the 9/4f travelled well before coming to challenge leader Gibbs Island over a furlong out, soon quickening to lead, the son of Siyouni went on over 200 yards out.
However, Moore than had to be at his strongest to repel the late run of Going Remote who came from out of the pack to threaten close home.
At the finish, only a neck separated the pair, with Gibbs Island a further head back in third.
Aidan O'Brien, who trained the winner, was completing a treble on the day.
Chris Armstrong said:- “He's a horse that's educating himself from race to race and we're just bringing him along slowly.
“He's a real strong traveller and Ryan gave him a lovely ride just to ease him into it.
“Once he puts everything together there is a real good pot in him. We'll see how he is in the handicap now and possibly look at the Britannia in Ascot or the mile-and-a-quarter handicap.
“He's got no problem with the trip over a mile or a mile-and-a-quarter.”
