Notforalongtime recorded a sixth career win and third for owner/trainer Laura Hourigan at this venue when justifying 2/1 favouritism in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Claiming Race at Dundalk.
The six-year-old gelding travelled well early in the straight and kept on well inside the final furlong under Oisin McSweeney to beat Monzoon by a head. Chica Power was a further length and a quarter away in third.
Hourigan said, "He did it well. There aren't too many races for him so I had to come here for this.
“I have him in for €8,000 and if he goes I'll be sorry as there is a bit more in him.
“The last day up here I think they went too quick over the mile for him. The time before he was in the box seat the whole way and he was happy.
“Oisin was very good on him, he did exactly what I asked him, and I'm delighted.
“He's paying his way and he enjoys the surface, we'll see what happens now after today.”
Monzoon and Eighty Eight (5th) were both claimed for €8,000 to be trained by H.D. McGuigan and Johnny Feane respectively, while Invincible Larne (4th) was claimed for €5,000 by Eric McNamara.
