Laura Hourigan saddled her second winner as Notforalongtime took division one of the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk this evening.
The former successful rider and daughter of legendary trainer Michael Hourigan took out a licence just over a year ago and opened her account with Pimstrel, also ridden by Mark Enright, at Galway last month.
The Paco Boy gelding won three times for Clive Cox and has shown signs of a return to form in recent months with cheek pieces fitted for the first time this evening.
The 7/1 chance travelled sweetly early in the straight for Enright and found enough under pressure inside the final furlong to beat the staying on Dark Street by half-a-length. Leclerc was a further half-a-length back in third.
Enright said, "He travelled around lovely. They went a nice even gallop, we didn't go mental.
"I was in front far too soon but I just wanted to kick on. He doesn't quicken a whole lot and when he got to the front he was idling away.
"He kept tipping away and I think he likes that surface. Hopefully there is another one like that in him again.
"The cheekpieces definitely helped and he was a little bit quicker away today, he can be a bit sluggish away.
"It's great for Laura (who was leading up the winner)."
