Not So Simple made all in the three mile one handicap hurdle at Roscommon and was tough at the business end.
This gave him compensation for being caught on the line at Tipperary at the start of the month.
There were plenty of horses in behind him with a chance turning for home and the 5/6 favourite was strongly pressed two out. Therellalwaysbeone appeared to be travelling all him between the final two flights but, when push came to shove on the run-in, it was Not So Simple who battled on best to prevail by a length and a half under Shane Fitzgerald. Balgowlah took second at 6/1 for northern trainer Colin McBratney. Therellalwaysbeone dropped to third at 9/2 from 8/1.
Trainer Norman Lee said: “That's great after being nabbed the last day. It's great that he got his head in front today and he deserved that.
“He belongs to great owners who are great supporters of ours.
“He'll keep at his own level and we will give him a break, we won't run him back too quickly, as he's had two runs in a week and he's done his job.
“We're delighted for the lads at home. We've had a great week, the horses are in good form and we'll enjoy it as we've had enough bad times!”
