On a day where the locals dominated at Bettyville courtesy of Mikey Fogarty, Paul Nolan, Liz Doyle and Colm Murphy, New Ross owner and trainer Harry Williams and Gordon Doyle got in on the act when Foritsa put his third win in a row on the board in the Arctic Tack Stud Veterans Handicap Chase.

Successful before at Wexford back in November and also at Thurles before Christmas, the much improved ten-year-old again had Adam O'Neill in the plate.

Foritsa, as is his preferred method of racing, was never far off the gallop and whilst he wasn't great at the last he still had a length and a half in hand over Solstice Knight at the line.

It was no surprise to see Foritsa receive a nice reception on his return to the number one, particularly when one considers he was put in at 9/2 for this event in early betting last night before going off the well-supported 5/2 market leader.

M.A. Enright, rider of Caduceus trained by P. Hughes, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.(DM & EM)
