Nina sends favourite backers home happy
Kick For Touch followed up on his encouraging debut run at Thurles back in February, as he ran out a comfortable five length winner of the finale at Roscommon this evening, the Boyle Flat Race, for his trainer Charles O’Brien with Nina Carberry aboard.
The winning son of Lomatis led early on before being headed by Between Me And You after four furlongs. He was then ridden to lead again before straight and was kicked clear a furlong out, staying on well to score by five lengths from Figurati at 16/1 back in second. Flycorn just got the better of newcomer Butterfly Lion three and a half lengths back in third.
The winner was returned the well supported 5/4 favourite having been backed from his morning price of 7/4.
Nina Carberry was recording her first win for trainer Charles O’Brien,, who was not present for the victory.
