Night a Benefit for the bookmakers
Davy Condon completed a 237/1 double when Benefit Night came back to form with a bang in the Lucan Racing Leinster National Handicap Steeplechase at Naas.
This son of Beneficial, winner of three-in-a-row back in 2007, including twice at Naas, one of those being a Grade 2 novice chase, made all in this three miler and he galloped up the straight with great enthusiasm in his blinkers (a recent addition to him) to easily see off Lurgan
Danny O'Sullivan handles the eleven-year-old for Mary-Rose Cooney and the Cork trainer said of the 33/1 shot: "That's the first time he's had a light weight like that and he loves it around here. He'll probably go for the Midlands National at Uttoxeter now.
"He has to go left-handed and that's been a problem all along as it limits where he can go. His run in the cross-country last time sweetened him up. He's only had three runs this season and this is his ground.
"He is a tough horse when he gets his own way.
"That'll keep the show on the road for a while!"
