Nibiru (5-2) successfully gave weight away to the opposition in the Michael Cawe Suspended Ceilings Maiden Hurdle at Ballinrobe.

Tony Martin's four-year-old gelding was nudged along by Robbie Power to get in contention with Zayriyan and Cats For Cash at the last.

The leader Zayriyan was less than fluent at it as Cats For Cash and Nibiru got on terms sweeping round the home bend.

It was Nibiru who stayed on best in the final furlong, though, to go on by two and a half lengths.

Cats For Cash kept on at the same pace in second at 6/1. He was a length ahead of 20/1 shot Zayriyan. Tomeric the 2/1 favourite, raced fifth before unseating at the fourth last.

Tony Martin said: "He promised to be a nice horse but he's had his ups and downs.

"Things went right for him today. He won over six on the Flat and he showed that bit of speed there.

"As I've said he's been in and out, hopefully he can go on from here though."

This was Power's only ride on the card and his first winner since Zoffalee at this venue on May 27th. He recently returned from a spell on the sidelines.
