Monzoon powered clear in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the claimer at Dundalk.
The Ross O'Sullivan-trained gelding tracked the leaders in the mile contest before being asked to challenge two furlongs from home.
He got the better of 1/2 favourite Brains going to the furlong pole and stayed on strongly in the closing stages, for Shane Foley, to record a five-and-a-half length win over Pinball Wizard
The 7/1 winner had been fourth in handicap company on his last visit to the track. He was recording his third win at Dundalk and his fourth career success.
O'Sullivan said: "In fairness to Shane Foley, he had it ridden to a tee. He said they were going to go too hard and he was going to let them at it. He was going to come wide and it worked out perfectly.
"Definitely a lot of winners came from this side the other night (Friday). Ted's (Walsh) Chummie was the same in coming wide.
"He is going to be claimed now, there are plenty of lads going to claim him and they will probably have a bit of fun during the winter.
"The man that owns him (John Bowden) is after winning three races with him and he has had a great time with him but he's six going seven and he wants to get a couple of younger horses.
"It is nice to go out on a high with him."
The winner was claimed by TSM Racing Syndicate to be trained by Noel Kelly. James McAuley claimed Fastman (5th) while beaten favourite Brains (8th) was claimed by P Sweeney to be trained by Dick Donohoe.
