Muzak proved strongest in the Guinness Handicap Chase at Galway in a race in which only three got involved.
Fosters Cross cut out the running in the 2m1f event with Muzak and Boxer Beat giving chase and the rest of the field settling off the pace.
Muzak claimed the front-runner going to the second last and stuck on well in the closing stages to land a length-and-three-parts victory under Robbie Dunne.
He came over to the rail on the run-in and had too much in hand for Boxer Beat, who won the battle for the runner-up spot.
Muzak has proven a terrific servant for Galway publican John Monroe and was landing his sixth career success.
“He's a little devil, he's getting more relaxed and I'm delighted with him – he's enjoying himself,” said Monroe.
Monroe did mention Listowel as a target but then said: “He's not fond of left-handed tracks. I'll be able to go on my holidays soon!”
