First-time blinkers worked the oracle for Mistress Of Venice who delivered on her ninth start in the BetVictor Bet 5euro Get 30euro Offer Maiden at Tipperary.

The 7/4 favourite was one of a host of horses in the firing line in the final furlong and she finished off best of all to get up by half a length with Shane Foley in the plate.

The horse she passed in the closing stages was Sunset Nova (4/1) who was a length in front of 7/2 chance Royal Court Jensons Joy was gambled on before racing (66/1 - 10/1) before going off at 25/1. He wasn't far off the pace in fifth entering the final furlong and was carried left by Royal Court in the final 100 yards. He finished in fifth.

Trainer Ken Condon said: "With her two-year-old form it was hugely important to get a winning bracket. She missed her three-year-old career, but ran a nice race following her layoff at Navan and stepped forward again at Dundalk.

"It is proper soft now and she probably isn't in love with it. It is good to get the win and hopefully she can go back up into Stakes company now. We'll try and find a Stakes race now over five or six.

"With her confidence back she might be able to go on now."

Mistress of Venice was placed in Listed company for James Given at York in May 2017 and was then fourth in Group Three and Group Two company the same year.
