The Chris Timmons-trained Mr Mills got on top in the closing stages to land the spoils in the concluding ten furlong handicap at Dundalk this evening. Emeric hit the front passing the two pole but was strongly pressed by the eventual winner a furlong from home.
The Elzaam gelding proved tough for Robbie Colgan as he stuck his head out close home for a half length win on the 11/2 shot.
Mr Mills had been runner-up on his last visit to the course and was opening his account on his tenth career start.
Colgan said: "I learned a bit about him the last day, I was probably a little bit out of my ground and he ran on really well to be second.
"The winner the last day (Dark Street) was just beaten a nose in the second-last race, so the form was there.
"He seems very tough and genuine. The more you get stuck into him, the harder he tries. We are still learning about him but it was great to get that today.
"They said they were very happy with him since the last day and expected him to be thereabouts today."
