The Sean McParlan trained newcomer Drumlee landed a gamble in the last at Thurles at he took the Liscahill INH Flat Race under the trainer's son Noel.
Having opened at 25/1 this morning with Paddy Powers, he opened on-course at 20/1 before his price tumbled into 8/1 at the off.
The 4yo son of Helissio was held up in rear for much of the contest before he made smooth headway over four furlongs out.
He hit the front in the early straight and soon edged clear before being ridden and he stayed on for pressure in the final furlong to come home a comfortable three length winner.
The Nina Carberry ridden, Charlie Swan trained Tangled Web finished second on his debut at 5/2 while Our Pollyanna was a further seven lengths back in third under Jane Mangan for Prunella Dobbs at 12/1. Sizing Sahara was sent off the 9/4 favourite for Patrick and Willie Mullins but he could only manage a disappointing sixth.
Sean McParlan, who trains in Co Down, said afterwards: "He is a good horse and he showed a good turn of foot at home. We are open to offer for him now.
"I bought him for just €800 (Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale in 2008) as a foal. He was a small weak foal but he grew well."
