Progressive British import Business (4/1 joint-favourite) completed a Dundalk hat-trick in the featured seven-furlong handicap.

After French Company in race three, it was a double on the afternoon for Declan McDonogh who had a straightforward ride on the smooth-travelling winner. Having tracked the leaders, the hooded gelding by Siyouni took command inside the final furlong and kept on well to defeat Rocky Dreams by a length with Prisoner’s Dilemma another half a length back in third.

A nine-race maiden for John Quinn across the water, Business has won three of his four starts since joining Gordon Elliott, all of them over this distance.

The winning rider remarked: “Gordon was adamant that he would improve a lot after he won his maiden here and he’s going the right way.

“He did it well today and there was never really a moment’s worry. He jumps good, he puts you in a nice position and he’s not keen. He can travel for a long way down the straight before you have to go for him.

“He has a funny way of carrying his head but it doesn’t stop him galloping. I think he’ll be a right horse for those handicaps in the summer covered up on a turning track.

“Seven is lovely for him and he might get a mile. He’s very relaxed at the moment and that gives him options.”
