It was mares first and second and what game ladies they are as Robin De Carlow and Put The Kettle On served up a fantastic conclusion to the Grade Three Like A Butterfly Novice Chase. The former edged it at Tipperary for Willie and Danny Mullins.

Robin De Carlow (5/1) built up a real head of steam between the final two fences but Put The Kettle On wasn’t going to go down without a fight.

Half a length separated them at the line. Henry de Bromhead trains Put The Kettle On and he has care of the third placer, Moon Over Germany too, four and three parts of a length back.

Mullins also had Brahma Bull (15/8 favourite) and he finished last after his jumping let him down. Closutton’s other runner, Dandy Mag was a place in front of Brahma Bull. He never really got into it after a mistake at the first.

"She is a solid mare and has had winter form before over hurdles and now that the rain is arriving she might come into her own over fences," said Danny Mullins.

"She has been solid so far during the summer and hopefully there is more to come. She stays further on summer ground but on winter ground she has a bit of toe over those slightly shorter trips. There are plenty of options for her."

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Mullins, rider of Robin De Carlow (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D. E. Mullins in breach of Regulation 10. 3.(g), excessive frequency, and having considered D. E. Mullin's record in this regard they cautioned him on this occasion.

P. Townend, rider of Brahma Bull trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Brahma Bull, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
