Trainer Tom Mullins recorded a Tramore double today with a pair of frustrating maiden mares, as Kimy (3/1) ended a 'mere' ten-race losing streak to land the Download The New Tote App Maiden Hurdle.
Mullins' homebred C'est Rien had banished a 26-race losing spell in the earlier race and the trainer again combined with nephew Danny Mullins on Kimy, which comfortably held 30/100 favourite Picture Of You by 6.5 lengths.
Mullins said “Kimy had the cheekpieces on today but I don't know whether they made the difference as she was coming along well. She had a lot of weight in Ballinrobe the last day and that was a good run.
“She never scopes clean, that's her problem but had nicer ground today and I knew she was getting better. She only needed to improve a little bit to win this race.
"Everything went sweet for Danny, there was no problems. She'll go to the Lartigue at Listowel but will be out of the handicap if Nurburgring (Galway Hurdle winner) runs. We'll stick her in it anyway and she where she is.”
