There was talk before the mares' bumper about point-to-point graduate Lady Rose Hackett and Willie Mullins' newcomer Lady Gooner however, it was Madge A Chroi who upstaged both of them.
This once-raced daughter of Shantou finished fifth in a mares' bumper at Cork last month and took four steps forward.
Ray Barron sent her past 7/4 joint favourite Lady Gooner a furlong and a half down and she closed the door on any opportunity in the closing stages as she won by three and a half lengths at 14/1 having been available at 40/1 in the morning.
Lady Gooner was booked for second, a length and a-half in front of Dansanttothetune (18/1).
Charles Byrnes said: "She is a granddaughter of Cailin Alainn (eight-time winner) who we had great days with and her same owner John O'Mahony has been with me a long time.
"We were happy with her run the first day, but the race has been working out unbelievably bad. There was a lot of talk for a couple of fancied runners in today's race, but the owners still had a few quid each-way on so it was grand.
"She was eligible for the EBF 5,000 bonus today and we'll now have to consider going for another bumper and wait to go hurdling next season."
