The Midsummer's Weekend With The Stars Rated Novice Hurdle saw 11/8 favourite Lucid Dreams continue to make up for lost time with a comfortable success.

The Arcadio gelding only started racing on Saint Patrick's Day this year at the age of eight and was following up a maiden success at Ballinrobe.

Restrained by Liam Quinlan, he raced exuberantly and loomed up alongside Lady Of The Vale entering the home straight before going away to beat her by an eased-down four lengths.

“He's a fair horse. Hopefully he'll be lucky,” said winning trainer and, in this case, owner John Ryan.

“He'll have to up his game again the next day. He can go to three miles or go back to two, it doesn't matter.

“He's a classy horse, the best I've ever trained anyway.

“Whether he runs between now and Galway I don't know, maybe in another novice hurdle somewhere.

“He's a big horse, 17 hands and 650 kilos.”
