There were shades of his Troytown Chase day domination when Gordon Elliott made it a fifth winner on the day at Navan, to go with a Limerick success, as the bumper at Proudstown Park went to his Minellafordollars Jamie Codd rode this victor of the Navan Race Members (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

A Lingstown point-to-point winner under Codd in December when with Denis Murphy, Minellafordollars was since transferred by his owners, Dr Bernardine Rochford and John Nallen, to Cullentra House Stables.

If point-to-point legend Codd is to this season add an amateur jockey's crown to his CV, it'll be well deserved, as he's simply riding on the crest of a wave at present.

Basically Elliott and Codd can do very little wrong at the moment because here Minellafordollars looked for a time as though he'd have to settle for minor honours behind Beyond The Law and Jetz

Not a bit of it though, as the King's Theatre gelding powered home in the final furlong to score by eight and a half lengths.

The earlier Elliott winners at Navan were Monbeg Notorious Chirico Vallis, Sanibel Island and A Thoi Phil. Double Scores was his Limerick victor, and Valdieu did the business for the County Meath outfit at the point-to-point at The Pigeons.

Leading Cheltenham trainer Elliott commented: "It's the first horse that John has had with me and thankfully it has worked out for him. He's a nice horse but a horse for the future, and you won't see him again this year.

"I'm just lucky to have the horses and staff that I have. I can't believe how well things are going, and long may it last."

Codd meanwhile is now level with Patrick Mullins at the head of the amateur riders list.

R.A. Doyle, rider of Beyond The Law trained by M.F.Morris, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung very badly during this race.
