Listowel market movers

Wed 16th Sep 2009, 14:13

The Guinness Kerry National is the feature of the seven day Festival at Listowel, and punters have latched onto four horses in the morning price lists – Northern Alliance Paco Jack Tasman and Ballycullen Boy

Northern Alliance generally just heads the market at 6/1. Ruby Walsh's mount was freely available at 7's this morning, with Ladbrokes now a standout price at 13/2.

The power of Pricewise in the Racing Post has undoubtedly led to Paco Jack being trimmed from 8/1 to 7/1, while the 14/1 about Tasman is long gone and Liam McAteer's charge is now 11/1.

However Ballycullen Boy is probably the best backed this morning for the three mile chase. Runner-up to Ponmeoath in this race two year's ago, the light-weight has been cut from 16/1 to 10/1 although Ladbrokes stand alone at 12's.

On the remainder of the eight race mixed card, the Seamus Mulvaney Handicap Chase (5.35) has proved a lively heat with the top three in the market all supported. Meet The Parents 11/2 with Ladbrokes this morning, is generally now a 7/2 favourite with Paddy Power best at 4/1. Keelaghan (6/1 in to 5/1) has also proved popular while the real “steamer” here is Arkendale

Paul Moloney has made a welcome return from the UK to partner the seven-year-old, and early offers of 12/1 have been slashed to 7/1 (Ladbrokes, William Hill and Boylesports).

Powers early price of 2/1 Hayabusa for the bumper has evaporated, with Willie Mullins' charge now an 11/8 chance.
