Trainer Martin Brassil and owners Sean and Bernardine Mulryan gained a measure of compensation for their withdrawal of Fastorslow in today's featured Savills Chase at Leopardstown, with a win in Limerick's Cube Maiden Hurdle with Built By Ballymore (4/1).
Named after Mulryan's Ballymore Group development company, the son of Flemensfirth improved to lead travelling well entering the home straight and despite jumping the final two flights to his left, won easily from Native Speaker
Brassil this morning withdrew stable star Fastorslow from today's featured Grade 1 at the Dublin course due to softening ground conditions, and at Limerick, the trainer's son and winning jockey Conor Brassil said “Built By Ballymore is a big and raw and will take time to come to himself. Even though we went a nice gallop and were a few lengths off the leader, I was happy where I was sitting.
“I thought the horse in front (Beau Walking) would carry me further and I took him back. I kicked on then and he'll learn loads from jumping the last two hurdles in front There is plenty more to come and he will jump a fence too.
“He will be a bit better on better ground but slogged it out today.”
Fastorslow is to be rerouted to the Irish Gold Cup at the Dublin Racing Festival.
