Captain Cullen provided Navan trainer Joseph Murray with his first winner when taking the Gabriel Curran Memorial Handicap at the Curragh.
The six-year-old gelding was recording his sixth career victory but the previous five were all while in the care of Gerry Keane, with Murray taking over the training this season.
Ian Queally sent the well-backed 5/1 joint favourite (available at 7/1 this morning) to the front a furlong out, and he was pushed out to beat the staying on Tom Dooley by a length. Super Focus was a further half-length away in third.
The winner is owned by Murray's fiancée Lisa Sheridan.
