Lagan gets it right on outing number 3
He may have been easy to back after not performing up to expectations on his first two starts but Laganbank put it all together on outing number three to impressively land the concluding race of the Killarney Festival, the Liam O'Connor Show (Pro/Am) Flat Race by five and a half lengths.
Patrick Mullins arrived there cruising on the son of Norwich at the two furlong pole and he show a great burst of acceleration to put the issue beyond doubt quickly as he accounted for the well-fancied Maddoxtown (Tony Mullins & Pa Murphy) and All In A Days Work by five and a half lengths and a length.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said: "He disappointed me on his first two runs. He is a fine big horse that will hopefully go on to bigger and better things. He'll be one for fences down the road and I'm not sure if I'll go for a winners bumper with him. He'll go novice hurdling this season."
At least the first three home completed another circuit of the course before being brought to a halt by their riders.
