Lady Mega justified market confidence as she took the Connolly’s Red Mills Handicap under Robbie Downey for Eddie Lynam.

The youngest horse in the field at three she started at 11/4 this morning, opening on-course at just 13/8 before going off the clear 15/8 favourite.

Settled in mid-division she was ridden and improved to challenge two furlongs from home.

She hit the front over a furlong out and kept on well from there to score by a length and a half. In Salutem kept on to take second at 20/1 under Shane Foley for Ken Condon while Tylery Wonder was a head back in third at 7/1 under Billy Lee for Willie McCreery. The winner, who is owned by Theydontknow Syndicate, was recording her third career success this evening on her eighth start.

She finished a good fourth on her last outing in the Rockingham at the Curragh, when sent off favourite, behind previous winner Sir Maximilian
